Many Amazing Fruits That Help You Lose Weight Despite What You’ve Heard

Blueberries, Strawberries & Kiwi

These are three fruits we often find in a fruit salad. They are quite colorful when mixed together, which makes for a bright addition to any table setting designed around our healthy eating plan. Wait until you learn why they should be a part of our daily intake!

4. Blueberries

Shiwani Moghe, a researcher from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas, looked at whether blueberries and their high polyphenol content could play a role in fighting obesity.  What she found was the highest dose of polyphenols cut the number of fat cells by 73 percent, while the smallest dose showed a 27 percent decrease.  Moghe said. “The promise is there for blueberries to help reduce adipose tissue (body fat) from forming in the body.” Source

Isn’t this great news? Although Moghe also stated that more research would need to be done on the doses and effects blueberries would have on humans, it is exciting to know that blueberries have the potential to help fight the development of fat cells.  Studies have also shown that blueberries may have a positive effect on our cardiovascular health.  Since belly fat is linked to an increased risk of heart disease and diabetes, this is a great little fruit to add to our diets, especially for those of us trying to lose weight.

5. Strawberries

Strawberries contain anti-inflammatory enzymes and antioxidants, which can slow skin aging and increase the metabolic rate so the body burns fat instead of storing it. Strawberries promote the production of the hormone adiponectin and leptin, both of which are fat-burning hormones and metabolic hormones. This results in a higher metabolic rate and more weight loss. Strawberries can help you reach your goal weight easily. Anti-inflammatory enzymes can take care of internal injuries or even tissue damage, thus allowing you to do the exercise you need to lose weight and remain healthy. Source

Let’s face it, strawberries are pretty much a staple in any kitchen. They are pretty and can be used in so many different ways, even for garnish, so isn’t it nice to know that they can also help with our weight loss? It’s comforting to know that they also help with the reduction of inflammation in our bodies, which can lead to disease.

6. Kiwi

Kiwis are low in calories and contain lots of fibers which are extremely nutritious and help suppress your appetite. You will feel full and not in need of consuming anything else for a long time! Another huge benefit you get from eating kiwis is stable blood sugar levels because kiwis are a low-glycemic food. If you are trying to lose weight, you should know that if your blood sugar levels are not stable, your body releases insulin which stimulates fat storage. Kiwis also speed up metabolism which is a huge plus when it comes to weight loss. With all these important qualities, kiwis not only help you reduce your weight but also maintain it for a long time afterwards! Source

This is a great little fruit to utilize in your weight loss goals because it’s small, light, and low in calories. It’s a great snack in case you need a little something to hold you over for the next meal. To remove the kiwi from it’s skin, you can either peel the skin or, better yet, start by cutting off both ends and then take a spoon, slip it between the fruit and the skin, gently work your way around the entire kiwi (repeat for other side if necessary), and the skin should easily separate from the fruit. Cut or dice into slices or cubes (a nice addition to a fruit salad as well).
